Hiouen-Thsang

First published in the Times-Democrat in 1882, Hiouen-Thsang (玄奘, Xuánzàng) is the story of the monk born in China in 602, and his journey to India. Using this character, Lafcadio Hearn describes the search for Buddha, and sign a unique and exotic story trip, different from his “fantastics”.

Lafcadio Hearn (1850-1904) is mostly known for his numerous books on Japan, where he lived. His work also has historical value.
